Finally Back to my Blog....

So I took a bit of a hiatus from blogging, tried  out a new blog, didn't like it....back to this one. Typepad just seems easier for my brain to navigate. So now that I am back, gotta get things updated and hoping to post at least once a week.

So for starters I did some scrapping this weekend, tried out the new Heidi Swapp texture paste in gold...I am in love. I think I need all the colors they make, definitely going to be putting my Michael's coupon to good use. So here is the layout I created using Carta Bella Moments and Memories PP, Heidi Swapp Texture Paste in Gold Metallic, and Teresa Collins Stencils.

Love all the new stuff from CHA!

Well I finally found some time to be creative...yes folks, my mojo is back! I have been busy getting some samples done for my LSS Scrappy Boutique! Lots of new stuff from CHA coming in everyday.

My favorite layout is the one I did of my new nephew, using the Three Bugs Dawson line. Perfect paper for those of us who have little boys.

Aunties Little Boy

Over the summer my son had a field trip to T-REX at Downtown Disney. Those dinosaurs worked out great with this paper.

TREX

Of course the island girl in me can't resist a few beach layouts, here are a few using the My Minds Eye Good Day Sunshine Line.

One more using some Kaiser Craft papers...

My One Little Word

This year I am taking the Ali Edwards class 'One Little Word'. Which got me to thinking.....so I never keep my resolutions but I am good at working toward specific goals. So my one little word should be broad enough to cover all my goals but specifc enough for me to stay focused. So what is my one little word for 2011....RENEW.

I am hoping to renew my mind, body, soul and attitude in 2011. This means lots of reflecting on myself and those around me. I love change and I hope that my one little word can help me to make some of those tough changes that need to be made in order for me to move forward and become a better me. Thus helping to renew my mind, body, spirit and attitude this year.

The definition of my one little word....

re·new

1. to begin or take up again, as an acquaintance, a conversation, etc.; resume.
2. to make effective for an additional period: to renew a lease.
3. to restore or replenish: to renew a stock of goods.
4. to make, say, or do again.
5. to revive; reestablish.
6. to recover (youth, strength, etc.).
7. to restore to a former state; make new or as if new again.

I think this means I have a lot of room to grow this year! I will keep everyone posted on my journey, if you would like to join me here is the link to Ali Edwards one little word class.

My mojo is in full swing....

thanks to my new part-time job at my LSS, the one and only Scrappy Boutique I have been able to get a lot more scrapping done this summer. I love creating sample layouts for the store. Look at what I created with the Cosmo Cricket Snorkel line which we re-ordered just for summer. I love this line the colors are so bright and fun to work with.

MOSD May DT Project

Well it's about time I had a chance to BLOG. School is winding down and I am hoping to get a lot more scrapping done over the summer. Being a teacher is a tough job, but it's a job I love.

So here is my Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs May DT project. I made this mini-album using the Build a Book shaped chipboard pages. I saw a mini album on another site using the same Basic Grey colors so I decided to give it a try. Mini albums are not something that I do often, but this one was fun to make. I decided that once it was finished I will give it to my friend Amy who just got back from her first road trip, that way she can document some of her adventures. Well I hope you enjoy my mini album and I will be back to post more projects soon!

May Arts Ribbon Loop Card

I know that we recently on the forums at Cookin Up Creations we talked about trying new techniques. So with the May Arts Ribbon I wanted to think outside the box and my mind wondered back to a scrapbook class when I learned to make ribbon flowers for my layouts. I decided to Google it and found a video. Guess by who? May Arts!

So I tried the May Arts Ribbon video and it worked! So here is the video on how to make flower loop ribbons. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_5yrT0dQ8o

I used this one on a birthday cards. I really hope you guys will try this, it was lots of fun and very easy! Sorry it looks squished, I scanned it because I could not get a very good picture with my camera.
